Instructions for setting up other phones, adapters and PBXs (hereafter called devices). The labels may differ slightly.

Note that quoted values ("value") are entered without quotes.

Preferred setup

This is the preferred setup for newest devices that support SRV DNS records. If your device does not support SRV DNS records, you can use the alternative setup.

  • SIP Server / SIP Proxy: "voice.redspot.dk"
  • Use NAPTR/SRV DNS/Auto Lookup: "Yes" (Not always selectable and will then usually be used as standard).
  • SIP Server / SIP Proxy Port: Leave blank.
  • SIP Registrar Server: "voice.redspot.dk"
  • SIP Registrar Server Port: Leave blank.
  • SIP Domain / Realm: "voice.redspot.dk"
  • SIP Outbound Proxy: Leave blank / inactive
  • SIP Userid: Your phone number
  • Authenticate ID / User: Your phone number
  • Authenticate Password: Your password from the welcome email.
  • Name: Your name (only included with other IP phones and must not contain numbers or special characters etc.)
  • SIP Protocol: "UDP".

Alternative setup

Follow this guide for older devices that do NOT support SRV DNS records. This setup supports A DNS records but note that using A records is not recommended since you won't have latency based routing to our nearest SIP server and will have no failover!

  • SIP Server / SIP Proxy: "voice.redspot.dk"
  • SIP Server / SIP Proxy Port: "5060".
  • SIP Registrar Server: "voice.redspot.dk"
  • SIP Registrar Server Port: "5060".
  • SIP Domain / Realm: "voice.redspot.dk"
  • SIP Outbound Proxy: Must be blank / inactive
  • SIP Userid: Your phone number
  • Authenticate ID / User: Your phone number
  • Authenticate Password: Your password from the welcome email.
  • Name: Your name (only included with other IP phones and must not contain numbers or special characters etc.)
  • SIP Protocol: "UDP"

Additional settings

These settings might have to be set, but are often not necessary or already set correctly as standard.

  • Use NAT / NAT keep alive: "No"
  • Use STUN: "No"
  • Local Port: "5070"
  • Silence suppression: No (Can also be specified as: Transmit Silence: Yes)
