Bria Solo app (Advanced Platform)

How to set up your Bria Solo app for use with Redspot IP Telephony on our advanced platform

Note that this guide is only if you have received a username starting with "user_" for our advanced platform or are using Redspots hosted PBX!  

Setup

Create an account with Bria (Counterpath) and follow these instructions. Values ​​in quotation marks ("value") are entered without quotation marks. Fields not mentioned do not need to be filled in (leave blank or auto). 

  1. If you've created a new account you are shown the "Set Up a Voice Account" window, otherwise click "+" to add a new account. 
  2. In the "Configure a Voice Account" window/"General" tab enter:
    • DOMAIN: "sXXXXX.sip.redspot.info" where "sXXXXX" is to be replaced with your subscrption id.
    • PORT: Auto
    • SIP USERNAME / CALL EXTEN: Your user id starting with "user_".
    • SIP / VOICE PASSWORD: Your password supplied with your user id.
  3. Click the "Next Step" button/switch to "Service Settings" tab
  4. On the "Service Settings" screen/tab enter/select:
    • SIP PROXY: "sip.eu.redspot.info"
    • TRANSPORT: UDP.
    • REGISTRATION TIME: 600
    • KEEP ALIVE: Disabled
    • VOICEMAIL NUMBER: "*98"
    • FIREWALL, METHOD: None
  5. Click "Save" to save.
  6. Set other preferences right in your app.

If you use Bria via poorer internet connections, we recommend that you use "G729 Audio CODEC" as this CODEC requires significantly less bandwidth and is more tolerant of packet loss, which provides a better call experience.
